ޗިލްޑްރަންސް އޮމްބަޑްސްޕަރސަންގެ އޮފީހުން "ޗައިލްޑް ރައިޓްސް ސިމްޕޯޒިއަމް"ގެ ނަމުގައި މަހާސިންތާއެއް ބާއްވައިފި
Children's Ombudsperson's Office held its first Child rights symposium
As part of its various efforts to implement the provisions mandated by the Children's Ombudsperson's Office under the Child Rights Protection Act no. 19/2019, the office in association with UNICEF, has organized its first "Child Rights Symposium."
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih presided over the opening ceremony of the two-day seminar held at Crossroads. Children's Ombudsperson Niumaath Shafeeq, UNICEF Deputy Representative Paulo Sasaro, and UNICEF Child Protection Regional Advisor Amanda Bissex were also present on the occasion. In addition, heads of state institutions working for the welfare of children, NGOs, and school students were also present.
The seminar was held from May 14 to 15. During the symposium, papers from UNICEF, children, and eight other government agencies were presented. This includes papers from the Attorney General's Office, Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Maldives Police Service, National Drug Agency, and the President's Office. A panel discussion titled 'It Takes an Island to Raise a Child' was also held in the symposium.
The aim of the symposium is to create awareness among the concerned institutions about the need to improve child protection systems and strengthen coordination and accountability among institutions. During the seminar, information was provided on inculcating the spirit of prioritizing the interests of children in shaping the functioning of institutions.
In addition, within the child welfare system, child rights institutions were able to share their experiences of child welfare based on the institution's experience, and children's opinions and discussions were shared in decision-making related to children. The seminar also discussed ways to strengthen the mechanisms by which the institutions involved in the child rights protection system work together.
ކުޑަކުދިންގެ ޙައްޤުތައް ރައްކާތެރިކުރުމުގެ ޤާނޫނުގެ ދަށުން ޗިލްޑްރަންސް އޮމްބަޑްސްޕަރސަންގެ އޮފީހުން ލާޒިމްކުރާ ކަންކަން ތަންފީޒުކުރުމަށް ކުރަމުންދާ ތަފާތު މަސައްކަތްތަކުގެ ދަށުން، މި އޮފީހާއި ޔުނިސެފާއި ގުޅިގެން "ޗައިލްޑް ރައިޓްސް ސިމްޕޯޒިއަމް" ގެ ނަމުގައި މަހާސިންތާއެއް ބާއްވައިފިއެވެ.
ދެ ދުވަހުގެ މުއްދަތައް ކްރޮސްރޯޑްގައި ކުރިއަށް ގެންދިޔަ މި މަހާސިންތާ ފެށުމުގެ ރަސްމިއްޔާތު ޝަރަފުވެރިކޮށްދެއްވީ ރާއްޖޭގެ ޢިއްޒަތްތެރި ރައީސުލްޖުމްޙޫރިއްޔާ އިބްރާޙީމް މުޙައްމަދު ޞާލިހެވެ. މި ރަސްމިއްޔާތުގައި ޗިލްޑްރަންސް އޮމްބަޑްސްޕަރސަން ނިޢުމާތު ޝަފީޤުގެ އިތުރުން، ޔުނިސެފްގެ ޑެޕިއުޓީ ރެޕްރެޒެންޓަޓިވް ޕައުލޯ ސަސާރޯ އަދި ޔުނިސެފްގެ ޗައިލްޑް ޕްރޮޓެކްޝަން ރީޖަނަލް އެޑްވައިޒަރ އަމަންޑާ ބިސެކްސްވަނީ ބައިވެރިވެވަޑައިގެންފައެވެ. އަދި މީގެ އިތުރަށް ކުޑަކުދިންގެ މަސްލަޙަތަށް މަސައްކަތްކުރާ ދައުލަތުގެ މުޢައްސަސާތަކުގެ އިސްވެރިންނާއި، ޖަމްއިއްޔާ ޖަމާއަތްތަކާޢި، ސްކޫލް ދަރިވަރުންވެސް ވަނީ ބައިވެރިވެފައެވެ.
މި މަހުގެ 14 ވަނަ ދުވަހުން ފެށިގެން 15 ވަނަ ދުވަހުގެ ނިޔަލަށް ކުރިއަށްގެންދިޔަ މި މަހާސިންތާގައި ޔުނިސެފް އާއި، ކުޑަކުދިންގެ ފަރާތުން ހުށަހަޅާ ކަރުދާހެއްގެ އިތުރުން ސަރުކާރުގެ ކަމާގުޅުންހުރި އަށް އިދާރާއަކުން ކަރުދާސް ހުށަހަޅާފައި ވެއެވެ. އެގޮތުން އެޓަރނީ ޖެނެރަލްގެ އޮފީހާއި، މިނިސްޓްރީ އޮފް ޖެންޑަރ، ފެމިލީ އެންޑް ސޯޝަލް ސަރވިސްއާއި، މިނިސްޓްރީ އޮފް އެޑިއުކޭޝަނާއި، މިނިސްޓްރީ އޮފް ހެލްތްއާއި، މޯލްޑިވްސް ޕޮލިސް ސަރވިސްއާއި، ނޭޝަނަލް ޑްރަގް އޭޖެންސީ އަދި ރައީސުލްޖުމްޙޫރިއްޔާގެ އޮފީހުންވަނީ ކަރުދާސް ހުށަހަޅާފައެވެ. މީގެއިތުރުން، "އިޓް ޓޭކްސް އެން އައިލެންޑް ޓް ރެއިޒް އަ ޗައިލްޑް" މި ނަމުގައި ޕެނަލް ޑިސްކަޝަންއެއް މި ސިމޯޒިމްގައިވަނީ ކުރިއަށް ގެންގޮސްފައެވެ.
މި މަހާސިންތާގެ މަޤްސަދަކީ ކުޑަކުދިންނަށް ރައްކާތެރިކަން ކަށަވަރުކޮށްދިނުމުގެ ނިޒާމު ހަރުދަނާކުރުމުގެ ގޮތުން ކަމާގުޅުންހުރި ޢިދާރާތައް ހޭލުންތެރިކުރުވައި، ކުޑަކުދިންގެ ޙައްޤުތައް ރައްކާތެރިކުރުމުގެ ގޮތުން މުއައްސަސާތަކުގެ މެދުގައި އޮންނަންޖެހޭ ގުޅުމާއި ޖަވާބުދާރީވުން ހަރުދަނާ ކުރުމެވެ. އެގޮތުން މި މަހާސިންތާގެ ތެރެއިން މުއައްސަސާތަކުގެ މަސައްކަތް ބައްޓަންކުރުމުގައި ކުޑަކުދިންގެ މަސްލަހަތަށް އިސްކަންދިނުމުގެ ރޫހު އާލާކުރުމާއި ގުޅޭގޮތުން މަޢުލޫމާތު ފޯރުކޮށްދެވުނެވެ. އަދި ކުޑަކުދިންގެ ޙައްޤުތައް ރައްކާތެރިކުރުމުގެ ނިޒާމުގެ ތެރެއިން، ކުޑަކުދިންގެ ޙައްޤުތަކާއި ގުޅޭގޮތުން މަސައްކަތްކުރާ މުއައްސަސާތަކަށް އެ މުއައްސަސާތުގެ ތަޖުރިބާގެ އަލީގައި، ކުދިންގެ ޙައްޤުތައް ރައްކާތެރިކުރުމުގެ ތަޖުރިބާ ޙިއްޞާކުރުމުގެ ފުރުޞަތު ލިބިގެންދިއުމާއި، ކުދިންނާއި ގުޅުންހުރި ކަންކަން ނިންމުމުގައި ކުދިންގެ ހިޔާލާއި މަޝްވަރާ ޙިއްސާ ކުރެވިގެން ދިޔައެވެ. ހަމައެހެންމެ ކުޑަކުދިންގެ ޙައްޤުތައް ރައްކަތެރިކުރުމުގެ ނިޒާމްގައި ހަރަކާތްތެރިވާ މުއައްސަސާތައް ގުޅިގެން މަސައްކަތްކުރުމުގެ ނިޒާމް ހަރުދަނާކުރުމާއި ގުޅޭގޮތުން މި މަހާސިންތާގައި މަޝްވަރާ ކުރެވުނެވެ.
