Our Story
The Children’s Ombudsperson’s Office was established in accordance with Article 113 of Act no. 19/2019 (Child Rights Protection Act). The functioning of the office officially began on July 23, 2020, after President appointed Niumaath Shafeeq as the Children's Ombudsperson. The office was established to monitor the implementation of Act no. 19/2019 by the relevant state institutions. The office also encourages the state institutions concerned to assess the effectiveness of the Child Rights Protection Act and take all necessary steps to implement it. The Children's Ombudsperson’s Office oversee all matters related to children’s rights and asses government compliance with the provisions of the Child Rights Protection Act.

އުފެދިގެން އައިގޮތް
ޗިލްޑްރަންސް އޮމްބަޑްސްޕަރސަންގެ އޮފީހަކީ، ޤާނޫނު ނަންބަރު 19/2019 (ކުޑަކުދިންގެ ޙައްޤުތައް ރައްކާތެރިކުރުމުގެ ޤާނޫނު) ގެ 113 ވަނަ މާއްދާގެ ދަށުން، އުފައްދާފައިވާ މިނިވަން މުސްތަޤިއްލު އިދާރާއެކެވެ. މިއޮފީހުގެ މަސައްކަތްތައް ރަސްމީކޮށް ފެށިފައިވަނީ 23 ޖުލައި 2020 ގައި، ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ ޗިލްޑްރަންސް އޮމްބަޑްސްޕަރސަންގެ މަޤާމަށް ނިޢުމާތު ޝަފީޤު އައްޔަނުކުރެއްވި ފަހުންނެވެ. މި އޮފީސް އުފެދިފައިވަނީ، ކުޑަކުދިންގެ ޙައްޤުތައް ރައްކާތެރިކުރުމުގެ ޤާނޫނުގެ ދަށުން ބަޔާންކޮށްފައިވާ ކަންކަން، ދައުލަތުގެ ކަމާބެހޭ ފަރާތްތަކުން ތަންފީޛުކުރާ މިންވަރު މޮނިޓަރ ކުރުމަށެވެ. އެގޮތުން ދަޢުލަތުގެ އިދާރާތަކުން ކުޑަކުދިންގެ ޙައްޤުތައް ރައްކާތެރިކުރުމުގެ ޤާނޫނަށް ޢަމަލުކުރާ މިންވަރު ދެނެގަނެ އެ ޤާނޫނު ތަންފީޛުކުރުމަށް ކުރަންޖެހޭ އެންމެހައި ކަންކަން ކުރުމަށް މި އޮފީހުން ބާރުއަޅާނެއެވެ.
