Niumaath Shafeeg
Children's Ombudsperson
Ms. Niumaath Shafeeg was appointed as the Children’s Ombudsperson on 23 July 2020, in accordance with Article 113 of the Child Rights Protection Act.
In addition to this, Ms. Shafeeg also volunteers as the Chief Commissioner of the Maldives Girl Guides Association and as a part-time lecturer for Special Educational Needs Differentiated Instructions in Mathematics Teaching at the Maldives National University.
She has previously served as the UNICEF National Consultant for the Health Protection Agency (HPA), and as an Education Development Officer Coordinator for the National Institute of Education. She also did consultancy work for documentation of Early Childhood Development activities in Maldives, which was printed by the National Institute of Education. Over the years, she has worked as a part-time lecturer at Villa College, Maldives National University (MNU), and the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM).
Ms. Shafeeg has achieved an International Master’s in Early Childhood from Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences, Norway, Dublin Institute of Technology, and the University of Malta, 2011-2013). Previously, she acquired a Bachelor of Early Childhood from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.

ޗިލްޑްރަންސް އޮމްބަޑްސްޕަރސަން
ޤާނޫނު ނަންބަރު 19/2019 (ކުޑަކުދިންގެ ޙައްޤުތައް ރައްކާތެރިކުރުމުގެ ޤާނޫނު)ގެ 113 ވަނަ މާއްދާގެ ދަށުން 23 ޖުލައި 2020ގައި ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ އަލްފާޟިލް އިބްރާހީމް މުޙައްމަދު ޞާލިޙް ވަނީ ޗިލްޑްރަންސް އޮމްބަޑްސްޕަރސަންގެ މަޤާމަށް އަލްފާޟިލާ ނިޢުމާތު ޝަފީގް ޢައްޔަންކުރައްވާފައެވެ.
އަލްފާޟިލާ ނިޢުމާތު ޝަފީގްއަކީ ހިލޭސާބަހަށް ކުރައްވާ މަސައްކަތެއްގެ ގޮތުގައި މޯލްޑިވްސް ގަރލް ގައިޑް އެސޯސިއޭޝަންގެ ޗީފް ކޮމިޝަނަރގެ މަޤާމުވެސް ފުރައްވަމުންދާ ބޭކަނބަލެކެވެ. މީގެ އިތުރުން އެކަމަނާ ދަނީ ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ ޤައުމީ ޔުނިވަރސިޓީގައި ސްޕެޝަލް އެޑިއުކޭޝަނަލް ނީޑްސް ޑިފަރެންޝިއޭޓަޑް އިންސްޓްރަކްޝަންސް އިން މެތްމެޓިކްސް ޓީޗިން ކިޔަވައިދެއްވުމަށް ޕާޓް-ޓައިމް ލެކްޗަރަރއެއްގެ ގޮތުގައި މަސައްކަތްކުރައްވަމުންނެވެ.
މީގެ ކުރިން ހެލްތް ޕްރޮޓެކްޝަން އޭޖެންސީއަށް ޔުނިސެފްގެ ނެޝަނަލް ކޮންސަލްޓަންޓެއްގެ މަޤާމުވެސް އެކަމަނާ ފުރުއްވާފައިވެއެވެ. އަދި ނޭޝަނަލް އިންސްޓިޓިއުޓް އޮފް އެޑިއުކޭޝަންގައި އެޑިއުކޭޝަން ޑިވެލޮޕްމަންޓް އޮފިސަރ ކޯޑިނޭޓަރއެއްގެ މަޤާމުވެސް އެކަމަނާ ވަނީ ފުރުއްވާފައެވެ. އެކަމަނާއަކީ ނޭޝަނަލް އިންސްޓިޓިއުޓް އޮފް އެޑިއުކޭޝަންއިން ޝާއިޢުކުރި އަރލީ ޗައިލްޑްހުޑް ޑިވެލޮޕްމަންޓްގެ ޑޮކިއުމެންޓޭޝަންއަށް ކޮންސަލްޓަންސީ ފޯރުކޮށްދެއްވާފައިވާ ބޭކަނބަލެކެވެ. އަދި މީގެ އިތުރުން، ވޭތުވެދިޔަ އަހަރުތަކުގައި އެކަމަނާ ވަނީ ވިލާ ކޮލެޖް، ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ ޤައުމީ ޔުނިވަރސިޓީ އަދި ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ އިސްލާމީ ޔުނިވަރސިޓީގައި ޕާޓް-ޓައިމް ލެކްޗަރަރއެއްގެ ގޮތުގައިވެސް މަސައްކަތްކުރައްވާފައެވެ.
އަލްފާޟިލާ ނިޢުމާތު ޝަފީގްއަކީ އޮސްލޯ އެންޑް އަކެޝުސް ޔުނިވަރސިޓީ ކޮލެޖް އޮފް އެޕްލައިޑް ސައިންސަސް، ނޯވޭ، ޑަބްލިން އިންސްޓިޓިއުޓް އޮފް ޓެކްނޮލޮޖީ އެންޑް ޔުނިވަރސިޓީ އޮފް މޯލްޓާ އިން އިންޓަރނޭޝަނަލް މާސްޓަރޒް އިން އަރލީ ޗައިލްޑްހުޑް ހާސިލްކުރައްވާފައިވާ ބޭކަނބަލެކެވެ. އަދި އޭގެ ކުރިން އެކަމަނާ ވަނީ އޮސްޓްރޭލިޔާގެ ޔުނިވަރސިޓީ އޮފް ސަދަން ކްވީންސްލޭންޑްއިން ބެޗެލަރ އޮފް އަރލީ ޗައިލްޑްހުޑް ހާސިލްކުރައްވާފައެވެ.
